Welcome to the "One A Day Proverb" mailing List.

There are exactly 31 Proverbs written in the book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is believed to be mostly written by King Solomon.

When God promised to grant him one wish, King Solomon requested to be given "Wisdom". The bible records King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived.

What can we learn from his wisdom?

This list is for anybody who would like to receive a proverb a day either by text message or by email.

* Did you know that your cell phone text message service has an email address? You can email a message and then receive it through your text messaging service.

(To have a text message sent to your phone, go to one of these web site addresses to figure out what email to give this list in order to receive the text version... http://www.livejournal.com/tools/textmessage.bml?mode=details
or
http://tinywords.com/about/mobile/
or google "email to text message" to find what email address you need to type in in order receive the email on your cell phone text messaging service.)

Originally, I was receiving devotionals on my email, but I always felt too busy to read them and like i could never catch up with my other emails anyway. And then one day, my friend started texting me bible verses on my cell phone. I could read them at my convenience and they didn't come across as spam to me. I was hooked and decided to try and set this up.

(note: this is for people who have unlimited texts, as a proverb may span multiple text messages each day)

If you would prefer just to receive the proverb on email, then just go ahead and enter your regular email address as usual for where you want group messages sent.

* And for those of you who are really ambitious, you may decide to go ahead and create this same email to text system for "Read the bible in a year". If you have questions on how to set that up, just ask me about it.
